Story Behind
Founded by Zhisheng and Kevin, China Voyage was born from a shared belief that travel can be both deeply personal and globally trusted. Zhisheng is a passionate travel enthusiast and founder of CIG Tours LLC, a company he launched during college in 2024 with a strong focus on the Galápagos Islands. With an ambitious vision of building a unified global travel brand, he has been committed to creating experiences that deliver the same level of trust, quality, and care across destinations. Kevin, Zhisheng’s close friend and a graduate of Columbia University, brings extensive hands-on experience from his family’s international business operations, including energy imports and exports, oil reserve-related business, yacht chartering, and broader commercial and supply chain management. In one of their many conversations, Kevin recognized the growing opportunity in China’s travel market for international visitors, while Zhisheng was already expanding CIG Tours and thinking beyond a single destination. Their vision quickly aligned. After nearly a year of planning and preparation, China Voyage was established in Toronto, Canada, and registered in China, ready to offer travelers a refined, trustworthy, and beautifully curated way to experience China.

A passionate traveler and hospitality-minded entrepreneur whose global travel experience has shaped a deep appreciation for thoughtful, journeys. As the founder of CIG Tours LLC, he brings both personal curiosity and practical experience to the vision behind China Voyage.
He believes great travel brands should deliver the same sense of trust, care, and quality across destinations, and this belief continues to shape the long-term vision of China Voyage.
On the right is one of Zhisheng’s International Business professors, whose class was one of the most impactful in his academic journey. He provided valuable insight and early guidance when Zhisheng began navigating B2B business during the early stages of CIG Tours.

Kevin
Kevin is a Columbia University graduate with years of business and supply chain management experience in China and Canada. With a strong understanding of China’s commercial landscape and operational systems, he brings deep local insight to the team. His family business has completed yacht transactions and is now expanding into the travel industry from traditional international business, giving him practical exposure to high-end client service and tourism-related business operations.
A passionate golf enthusiast, Kevin also created one of the market’s few truly specialized China golf travel experiences, combining his business background with a sharp eye for niche, high-value travel design.

China Voyage was co-founded by students from Columbia University and Cornell University, bringing together a shared vision of refined, meaningful travel. Supporting the brand is a collaborative team that includes Cornell students and a Technology PhD from Indiana University, contributing both creative insight and technical expertise behind the scenes. Together, this cross-disciplinary foundation helps us craft journeys that are culturally thoughtful, operationally polished, and tailored with care to each guest.
