Dedicated Support: 24/7 English-speaking local concierge & professional guide service Overview This expedition takes place in Ziyun County, Guizhou, home to Miao Hall, one of the largest cave chambers in the world. In 1989, a joint Chinese–French exploration team discovered this enormous underground chamber while studying the Getu River cave system. The chamber measures approximately 700 meters long and 215 meters wide, covering an area larger than ten football fields, with a total volume of nearly 20 million cubic meters. The cavern is so vast that a Boeing 747 could theoretically fly inside it. To date, fewer than 300 people worldwide have entered Miao Hall. Even fewer explorers have descended through the dramatic natural skylight entrance, making it one of the rarest cave expeditions on Earth. *Throughout the journey, the team continuously evaluates participants’ physical condition, mental state, and overall safety. For safety reasons, the expedition leader may adjust or terminate the activity at any time if necessary. Detailed Itinerary Day 1 | Guiyang – Getu River Scenic Area Airport pickup in Guiyang and transfer to Getu River Scenic Area. After lunch in Ziyun County, check in to the lodge and begin rope descent training. Evening briefing on cave exploration and safety procedures. Day 2 | Miao Hall Cave Exploration Travel to Zhongdong Miao Village, the last remaining cave-dwelling village, and begin the expedition. Descend through the natural skylight entrance into Miao Hall, one of the world’s largest cave chambers. Establish underground camp and explore the main cave passages. Day 3 | Exit the Cave – Return to Guiyang Pack camp and exit the cave through the underground water route. Return to Ziyun County for lunch before driving back to Guiyang, concluding the expedition.
